The entrance is like a secret garden from a fairytale. The breakfast was a delicious mix of healthy options and homemade jams. Each room has a unique charm. The staff were delightful!

Oh, just let me scroll through my memory to find a flaw in this magical place. Nope, nothing comes to mind!

I recently stayed at Kyomachiya Hotel Shiki Juraku and had an amazing experience. The hosts were incredibly kind and generous, providing us with plenty of fantastic recommendations for local eateries in the area. The staff in general were very friendly and made us feel right at home. The breakfasts served each morning were absolutely delicious, and the coffee and tea were a nice touch. The rooms were cleaned to a high standard, and the personal service we received was top-notch. a great resort with a traditional Japanese ambiance, perfect for a 2-3 night stay.

Nothing, no complaints at all. 👍

I absolutely loved the traditional Japanese-style decoration throughout the hotel. The beautiful tatami mats, sliding doors, and delicate paper lanterns created a serene and peaceful atmosphere that made me feel like I had traveled back in time. The general areas of the hotel, such as the lobby and hallways, were also adorned with charming vintage-style furniture, adding a touch of elegance to the overall design. As a senior woman, I appreciated how well-maintained and easily accessible the hotel was. The staff kindly assisted me with my luggage and ensured that I had a comfortable and safe stay.

If I could ask for one improvement, I would suggest that the hotel provide handrails or support bars in the bathrooms and walkways for senior guests. This would give us extra stability and aid in moving around the hotel more easily.

The hotel's location may be a bit out of the way, but it is close to the Imperial Palace and a park. The neighborhood provides an authentic Kyoto experience, with everything you need nearby. The staff is eager to assist and the rooms are beautifully designed, offering a mix of traditional charm and modern comfort. The breakfast is a delightful combination of Western and Japanese cuisine, and the service is excellent throughout your stay.

The hotel's location can make it a bit difficult to access certain areas of the city without using taxis or public transportation.

Fancy local townhouse with a great atmosphere. Delicious breakfast and easy access to downtown and Kyoto station.- Highly recommend the local food tours in the Gion district

Not all staff speak English, but they make arrangements to communicate with foreign guests. Air conditioning controls were a bit difficult to understand

The design was so sick, like Instagram-worthy, you know? And the staff were hella cool, always ready to help. We hit up the Imperial Palace and Nijo Castle, both walking distance from the hotel, and they were straight fire. We even had a lit breakfast that gave us the feels, Japanese style with a twist.

Only thing, we wished there was a chill lounge area where we could hang out and turn up with our crew. It would've made the experience even more lit!

The rooms at Kyomachiya Hotel Shiki Juraku are cozy and comfortable, with a unique touch of origami-inspired lights in the upper level bedrooms. It adds a special charm to the ambiance, making me feel like I'm staying in a traditional Japanese home. As a backpacker, I appreciate the free WiFi and other basic amenities such as refrigerators and electric kettles, which made my stay more convenient.

While I enjoyed the origami-inspired lights in the upper level bedrooms, some guests might find them a bit too dim for their liking. However, this is just my personal opinion, and others may still find them charming and cozy.

We recently stayed at Shiki Juraku for a week and were blown away by the experience. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel like family. They recommended fantastic local restaurants that allowed us to immerse ourselves in the culture. The hotel's location in a residential area meant we got a taste of authentic Japan, and the abundance of nearby restaurants and izakayas was a bonus. We loved exploring the city on the hotel's bikes, as Kyoto is incredibly cycle friendly. The rooms were stunning, blending luxury with Japanese culture seamlessly. Highly recommended. - Oliver and Mel

The value for money at this hotel was exceptional, with a beautiful and clean room that was much bigger than other Japanese hotels. The location, although a bit far from the center, was perfect for us as we preferred a low profile area. The staff treated us like family and made us feel so welcome.

The breakfast option could be improved by offering more variety.
